College Football Predictions on This Week’s Board
The Tennessee Volunteers are the first row of this week’s board, followed by the six other SEC games on Saturday 10 October. I pulled every number from DraftKings through ESPN at 4:15 am ET on Thursday 8 October, and lean only where the season results back a reason.
| Game and kickoff (ET, TV) | Line at DraftKings | Our lean |
|---|---|---|
| Tennessee at Arkansas, 4:15 pm, SEC Network | Vols -13.5 (-110), total 51.5 | Vols -13.5 |

The Next Vols Kickoff
Tennessee, ranked No. 15 on ESPN and 4-1, kicks off at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville at 4:15 pm ET on the SEC Network. The Vols’ only loss was 20-17 to Texas, and they have beaten Furman, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State and Auburn by 47, 21, 33 and 10 points.
Arkansas is 2-3 and has lost to Utah 43-10, Georgia 45-17 and Texas A&M 34-7. Over the five games each team has played, the Vols average a 21.6 point margin and the Razorbacks a deficit of 8.6, which is why we take the 13.5 points laid. ESPN’s game page lists 88 degrees and gusts of 13 mph for Fayetteville, so check weather.gov on Saturday morning. Our full breakdown is on the Vols at Arkansas prediction page.
The Rest of the SEC Slate
Two other games give us a reason. Missouri is 4-1 and beat Florida 45-17 last time out, while Texas A&M’s only road game in that stretch was a 35-6 loss at LSU, so we take Missouri -3.5 at -105.
In Gainesville, South Carolina has allowed 41, 49 and 35 points in its last three games, and four of Florida’s five games and three of South Carolina’s five have gone over 59.5 combined points. That is why the lean is the over at 59.5. Georgia at Alabama, Texas at Oklahoma, Ole Miss at Vanderbilt and LSU at Kentucky are listed without a lean, because the results this season do not give us a clear edge on the side or the total. The Vols Record, Graded at the Printed Price
Every Tennessee Volunteers pick on this page is graded at the number and price printed when we publish it. Tennessee at Arkansas is our first pick, so the ledger below starts empty and fills in after Saturday.
How a Pick Gets Graded
We grade each pick at the line and price shown, at the book named. A push returns the stake and counts as neither a win nor a loss, and a pick is never changed after the fact if the line moves.
The Running Ledger
| Game | Pick and price | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Tennessee at Arkansas, Saturday 10 October | Vols -13.5 (-110) at DraftKings | Pending |
We will not quote a win rate until there is enough picks behind it to mean something, and we will always show how many picks sit behind it.
What Saturday Numbers Say About SEC Games
For the Tennessee Volunteers and the rest of the SEC board, the clearest number we can measure is how each line moved from its opening price. These are DraftKings figures as ESPN listed them on Thursday 8 October at 4:15 am ET, and how betting odds read explains the notation.
How the Line Moves in Game Week
| Game | Opening spread | Spread now |
|---|---|---|
| Tennessee at Arkansas | Vols -14 | Vols -13.5 |
| Texas A&M at Missouri | Missouri -1.5 | Missouri -3.5 |
| South Carolina at Florida | Florida -14.5 | Florida -11.5 |
| Texas at Oklahoma | Texas -6 | Texas -7.5 |
| Ole Miss at Vanderbilt | Ole Miss -10.5 | Ole Miss -9.5 |
| LSU at Kentucky | LSU -10.5 | LSU -8.5 |
| Georgia at Alabama | Georgia -3 | Alabama -1.5 |
Four of the seven favorites have shortened their spread since the open, while Missouri and Texas have grown and Alabama has flipped from a three-point underdog to a 1.5-point favorite. The biggest total move is Texas at Oklahoma, down from 48.5 to 39.5 points, and the data does not say why.
Rules That Shape Every Vols Pick
For the Tennessee Volunteers and every other school here, a pick can only be a pre-game, full-game moneyline, spread or total. College player props and every in-game, half, quarter or period market are not offered in Tennessee, so there are none on this page. Our sports betting hub covers the pro markets.
- Only moneyline, spread and total on full games
- No college player props
- No in-game, half, quarter or period markets
The Tennessee Sports Wagering Council licenses every sportsbook named on this page.
Where to Find the Vols Line
The Tennessee Volunteers line on this page is DraftKings, as listed by ESPN. We did not price other books for this page, so compare the number at your own book before you bet, because a half point can change a pick.
| Sportsbook | Source of the Vols line | Time checked ET |
|---|---|---|
| DraftKings | Listed by ESPN | Thursday 8 October, 11:15 am |
Current welcome offers for every Tennessee book are on our Tennessee sportsbook promos page.
Volunteers Futures Outlook
Steelers futures here are DraftKings prices as listed on ESPN on Thursday 8 October, 8:57 am ET. They will move with every result in the AFC North.
| Market | Price | Book and time read |
|---|---|---|
| National Championship | +7600 | DraftKings, Thursday 8 October, 8:57 am ET |
| To Reach Semifinals | +1400 | DraftKings, Thursday 8 October, 8:57 am ET |
| To Reach Championship Game | +3600 | DraftKings, Thursday 8 October, 8:57 am ET |
| Southeastern Conference | +4000 | DraftKings, Thursday 8 October, 8:57 am ET |
At +7600 for the national title and +4000 for the SEC, the Vols are priced as a playoff outsider rather than a contender. Of these markets, +1400 to reach the semifinals fits a team that has to win its big SEC games to get in, and we will revisit it as the SEC schedule plays out.

How do you grade a college football pick?
We grade each pick at the line and price printed when we publish it, at the book named. A push returns the stake and counts as neither a win nor a loss.
Why are there no player prop picks on Vols games?
College player props and in-game or period markets are not offered in Tennessee, so this page only covers full-game moneyline, spread and total.
How often are these predictions updated?
We update the board each Vols game week, and again whenever we change a pick or a line. The time of the last check is printed beside every price.
What happens to a pick if the line moves after it is published?
The pick stays graded at the line and price we printed. We never change a published pick after the fact, and any new pick is marked with its own time.

Vols games get their own page as they come up. This week’s page for Tennessee at Arkansas is linked in the board above.
Do you cover Vanderbilt and Memphis games too?
Vanderbilt is on this board whenever it plays an SEC game, as it does this week against Ole Miss. Game bets are allowed on both sides of a Tennessee school’s games.
Can I bet on a Vols game from outside Tennessee?
Not through a Tennessee sportsbook. You must be 21 or older and physically in Tennessee when you place the bet.
